Prescription for Cheerios?
The FDA released a statement about Cheerios:
“Based on claims made on your product’s label,” the FDA said in a letter to manufacturer General Mills, “we have determined (Cheerios) is promoted for conditions that cause it to be a drug because the product is intended for use in the prevention, mitigation and treatment of disease.”
If that would be the case, we would need a prescription for the friendly little oat circles and they would subsequently be removed from grocery store shelves all over the nation. Does it seem like the FDA is attacking the General Mills corporation by making moves to pull one of its longest, most recognized cereals off the shelf? What kind of implications would this have for other goods that we buy on a regular basis?
Bottom line: Should Cheerios be regulated by the FDA?

Mr Snook Says:
Just another way for the government to control what we do, what we eat and what we think (our schools and colleges indoctrinating our youth). Or maybe Genral Mills didn’t contribute enough to Caesar.
