Sex, Lies, Liberals, and Miss USA

0

At this year’s Miss USA Pageant one of the judges, celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton, asked Miss California, Carrie Prejean, the question: “Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same sex marriage.  Do you think every state should follow suit?  Why or why not?”

She responded: “We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

Do you think Perez Hilton’s reaction (below) was appropriate?

“When I asked Miss California her question and when she gave the worst answer in pageant history,” Hilton said. “She got booed. That was the first time in Miss USA ever that a contestant has been booed. Now, let me explain to you she lost not because she doesn’t believe in gay marriage, Miss California lost because she is a dumb [expletive].”

These judges are supposed to be unbiased and it appears that Miss California’s answer struck a nerve with Perez; it makes you wonder if it altered the outcome of the pageant.  Was this a professional way to handle a situation?  Is it even acceptable?

Perez Hilton should never be allowed to judge this contest again. That is absurd! Hilton asked an opinion of Miss California and didn’t like the answer he got. She has a different point of view than he, so she suffered in the contest. Does the Miss USA competition, as a whole, support same sex marriage? Seems like they do for allowing that question to be asked. According to NBC news, the question was cleared by the show producers.

The dumbest answer in pageant history is, “I just want world peace.” This women gave an answer that is unpopular, not PC, and she should be commended, not booed.

Celebrity gossip bloggers and “reporters” are the excrement of pop culture. Kudos to a brave woman unashamed of her beliefs. The gays need to get over themselves.

Perez says she got booed, but if you listen to the youtube clip all I can hear is cheering. I personally am wondering why the hell he was chosen as a judge anyway. He runs a gossip website, and is nothing more than a hateful, ignorant, celebrity gossip whore. The question asked for her opinion, and she gave it. Now I will admit her wording sounded a little ignorant, but I for one am glad that someone in the public eye would finally give an honest answer. Cheers to Carrie

Typical of liberal insanity, call anyone who disagrees with them an ignorant hate monger. PUHHH-LEAASE!!! It is not hatred to say that you dont believe in gay marriage. as a christian person, you get married to raise a family and to make your commitment before God. There is no way a gay marriage can be equal to a heterosexual one because it is not natural, you cannot procreate naturally. because we believe this does this mean we hate gays? i dont hate anyone and neither does Miss Ca.

Even before openly gay blogger and Miss USA judge, Perez Hilton, confessed that beauty pageant contestant, Carrie Prejean, lost a chance at the crown because of “the way Miss California answered her question,” on gay marriage, the sharks were circling.

Perez should have been unbiased when judging. It was also unprofessional to comment on the competition after the fact. HE just made him self look like a fool.

It seems to me that this may very weel be one of the problems with the republican party. There are probably a thousand other more important subjects we could be blogging about.

Perez Hilton is an idiot (what a suprise there) We need to be focusing on real issue that effect real people. Taxes, Unconstitutional bills, wealth redistribution, and a host of other much more important stuff.

I am opposed to gay marriage or gay anything for that matter, however it is not my nor the governments job to judge what people do in the comfort of their own homes.

We need to stop legislating social conservitism and focus on fiscal conservitism.

    Educate them don’t legistlate them.

Beside there is a good reason why the Miss USA Pageant has little to viewers anymore. Their rating have dropped so bad that they practicly have to pay a network to cover it and well Miss USA has been downgraded to the status of that which is just about this months Playboy Playmate. Which she will probably downgrade to in very short order. When the fun is over an Playboy offers up 200k she will lose her moral stance in a heartbeat.

Find a new topic. This is so below us, it’s pathedic.

Kudo’s to her for answering the question honestly. Isn’t that what she was supposed to do or was she supposed to blow smoke up the judges rears? It’s sad that Hilton’s additional 15 minutes of fame is hinged on being the hate monger he accuses the radical right to be. I thought the liberals were the champions of tolerance and understanding? Get over it Perez, besides 70% of America agrees with her….even Obama and that idiot Biden are against gay marriage. It’s also sad that something that effects such a small portion of our society dominates so much of the news. Just another way for the liberal media is focus on mean, bigotted, racist conservatives. Who the hell is Perez Hilton anyway and what’s his claim to fame?

Good for her! I love her. I respect her. She’s the real Miss USA. I don’t even know who won, but I sure do know everything about her. So who really won? Hilton is an idiot and so are the rest of the CA people who are trying to divide this country over same sex marriage. Marriage is a Christian concept. Homosexuality is not. Period. End of story. Why is this even debated? Move on.

So the Right has found something new to wet their pants over. Good for them! I am sure they will make this woman the latest martyr to the evil liberals. Yes indeed Ms Prejean will go on the Right-wing talk circuit and they will all fawn over her and tell her how mean the libs were to her–blahh, blahh, blahh.
Of course they forget the fact that she is a flaming idiot. I loved her answer that in America you can choose marriage or “opposite marriage.” Say what? What does that mean? Is she saying she is for gay marriage? I also loved the “in my country” comment. Where did she think she was? Brazil? What a loon. I can see why some of you Righties think she is a genius. LOL!

First, Perez Hilton is a bottom-feeding moron. On this, people of all political persuasions agree. Second, while I don’t agree with Ms Prejean, I don’t fault her for stating her opinion. (Although, for the record, we do not “live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite) I personally think her opinion is misguided, but would never call her a dumb “expletive” for believing it, just as I would never call a gay man a “flamer” for stating his opinion. And why aren’t we telling beauty contestents and beauty contest watchers to “just get over themselves” as Mike tells “the gays” to do?

To Steve-There are plenty of heterosexual marriages where the couples don’t have children. Some choose not to, some are unable, some people get married after child-bearing age. Are these marriages also not natural?

To Stephen-I appreciate your call to true conservatism.

As a straight man, I can’t for the life of me figure out how same-sex marriage will affect my life or affect heterosexual marriage in the least. Maybe I am missing something. Please enlighten me.

(As a side note, I also think beauty contests are misguided and will not shed a single tear when they go the way of the dodo).

The answer I wish Ms. Prejean would have given would have acknowledged that at least Vermont’s legislature voted on “Gay Marriage” instead of a court fiat. When people of California actually got a chance to vote (Prop 8) they reversed the courts. Now I support marriage as defined from antiquity until now as being between a man and a woman.
If she was able t think on her feet with an answer like that I’m sure the cheers would have drowned out Mr Hilton.

I voted for Crist and sorry I did. He tried to fix what wasn’t broken and now it is. I didn’t vote for a bipartisan politician. He’s disappointed me on several issues from supporting McCain to accepting stimulus money.
